#1 Defender can be best described as an Emo-Hardcore band although the band would rather not be tagged into a specific genre as they have a wide range of influences in their music. #1 Defender mix heart felt emotional melodic music with intense passionate hardcore edged riffs that captures the spirit of the bands mind. At times the music captivates a sense of serenity with Andy Clift's emotive vocals elevated above the soft atmospheric guitars but can then suddenly explode into hard hitting juxtaposed aggression that can almost perceive a sense of disorientation to the listener. The bands greatest strength lies in their ability to write sincere music that covers the different spectrums of emo and hardcore as each song has it's own unique sound and moment.
