Just one new track by Elemae on the A-Side "Sleeping with Adrenaline", on the B-Side is "Science Kit" which was also on their full length "Life To Be Denied"! These five kids from the States play great alternative rock mixed with a pop sensibility and dissonant Emo-Core sounds. I'm sure that fans of Elliot or Sensefield will like that! And it's really a pity that the first song is much too short, it contains a lot of catchy guitar melodies! These are combined with the smooth and clear voice of the singer who is singing and shouting! The second track begins very calm but the rocking gale is breaking out shortly after this "Intro"! Those two songs make me really hungry after more! Very good but much too short!

It seems so as if Ignition Records becomes the house out of England and Hoflabel good India skirt volume. ELEMAE is not is good the next Release, which is to be sure already a while outside, but therefore less. In transparent Vinyl comes offers singe that 7", and two: "Sleeping With adrenalin" on the one, and "Science Kit" on the other side. "Sleeping With adrenalin" as well as "Science Kit" plumb itself through the worlds of the India skirt. Whereby the Punkrockfaktor stands here far in the background and also loans occur out of the Hardcore or "Emo"- area here very few. Rather ELEMAE go somewhere its ways between WEEZER and the FOO FIGHTERS and do handicrafts singe accordingly both together. Both pieces sound cool, quietly, but rather good. Whereby "quietly" it also again not really encounters, rockig sooner. How that also would be, two pretty India skirt pieces which were stuck into a very cool Äußeres. Thumb highly.

Wow, it's is really cool to write a review about a record like this after reviewing 10 oldschool hc records. Musically, Elemae got nothing to do with HC. This is 100% alternative rock. But that doesn't mean this record is bad. No, I really like i, especially the first (of two) song "sleeping with adrenaline" (the keyboard-elements are really great). Elemae play some SENSEFIELD/TEXAS IST THE REASON styled emorock without sounding like a cheap copy of any of these famous bands. They just released a full length called LIFE TO BE DENIED which I haven't heard yet, but I'll check it out for sure, this 7'' was kind of an appetizer for my ears.

Elemae out of New Jersey More american Emo-skirt of volume belong to the new generation. The large success stayed away with them however previously. In the year 2001, they published its debut-album "Life To Be Denied". After that some contributions followed for Split-CD's and Sampler whereon they got the offer of the English Label Ignition, a 7" to releasen. The new singed draws snatch up itself "Sleeping With adrenalin" through its eingängigen and its Groove from, and also at the voice of the singer of the quintet, one will remember himself. The B-side "Science Kit" comes is yet of its old Releasen, and general slower and darker. Altogether a convincing Maxi

As soon as one the artworktechnisch very impressively formed puts 7" on the turntable, come a memory of a time highly, at which the large names of the Emo yet Sensefield, Texas were named Is The Reason or Sunny Day actually Estate. For Elemae strike India charm with its contagious mixture out of driving alternative skirts and a sympathetic pinch exactly into this notch. The two cure second leagues singe thoroughly can convince without breaking at the same time any convention or to present new recognitions. Instead Elemae left on that, what they can best and that is itself just always yet pretty, reasoned chirped singe write skirt, singed makes whereby the first "Sleeping With adrenalin" with its easily remembered Chorus very clearly the racing. One fell-length is hears also already out, that on the name "Life To Be Denied" and get wants who a first impression, lies in these 7" exactly correctly. The second singed is confessed "Science Kit" by the way already of the debut.

The more often I both singe rotate would let here on my turntable, all the more more bereuhe I it to not to be in the possession of the regular longplayers "life to be denied". ELEMAE play on this single, that is to be had by the way in the picture pretty transparent vinyl, a contagious mixture out of alternative skirts and that presently so angesagten emocore. the quintet out of New jersey orients itself at the same time obviously in the genre sizes. "sleeping with adrenalin" a branch pure hit became with its two minutes and appear follows goes having gives speaks reminded of melodicer QUICKSAND. on the b-side ELEMAE then of its quieter side. after a short keyboardintro one of this melancholy tracks, with which earlier already SENSEFIELD my heart conquered. and because in this single also the artwork heavily in order it practically nothing, what against the acquisition of that 7".Here anyway around one of the prettiest formats generally acts itself..

Music Extreme

This clear vinyl ep is as catchy as hell - if you need comparisons think Braid, Texas is the Reason and the Promise Ring, with hints of some classic older bands like Doughboys and Husker Du.

Collective Zine

This 7" features a band called Elemae. I would think of Elemae as 5 men. Two of whom can play their guitars, one who can sing, one who can play drums and one who can play keys. Each is adept at their chosen activity, they play their music without making any evident mistakes, such as breaking a string or dropping a drumstick. The singer doesn't fluff his lines. The production is clear and the record was obviously recorded in a building. The mastering of the record is competetent and consistent, I do not hear any pops and clicks, nor do I detect any scratches. The artwork has been printed well, and I did not spot any spelling errors, which makes for an aesthetically pleasing package. Overall, I would describe this as a record.

Suspect Device (#39)

A 2 track 7", one unreleased, one of the last album I believe. And quite a contrast between the 2 songs too, the A side is just over 2 mins and the B-side is over 4 mins. Side A, 'sleeping with adrenalin" is a faster number with a bit of an early Sense Field sound, and maybe a touch of mid period Doughboys. Big sounding indie rock stuff. Side B, 'science Kit" is a slower number and a bit of a builder, again, quite a Sense Field sound both in the music and the vocals. All told, it's danged good stuff, particularly after a few good listens. Very nice sleeve, with a fold over top and it's on clear vinyl, so another fine release from the guys at Ignition.

First: I am always sceptical if it`s worth to pay for a record with only 2 songs on it... same here with this 7", which features 2 songs from ELEMAE. ELEMAE from New Jersey are totally dedicated to the Rock stuff with plenty of warmth and passion in voice and instruments. Listening to the two songs it`s becoming obvious that the guys themselves listened to TEXAS IS THE REASON and especially SENSEFIELD a lot. The two songs are really good, but you expect more songs on it, the 7" is definitely too short...So long I am waiting for a full-length album to satisfy my aroused interest in this band !! Favourite Song: Sleeping With Adrenaline.
