A very refreshing sound that gives me an escape from my daily noisy-core play list. Easy listening music for a moment of silence and relaxation. Perfect for giving your ears a break from all that chugga chugga music. The CD has three rockin tracks and two acoustic tracks that adds some more interest to the release. If you want to relax, listen to Joshua.

Fellow Engineer artists Joshua don't rock quite like Rydell. The four-member collective goes for a cleaner sound on "Baggage EP," its first release.
The first three cuts are electrified anthems and the last two see the band close in acoustical variations. Opening track "A Better Place" goes for spacious measures and long strides, with the distortion pedal added in. "Repetition Forever" churns like a choppy yet lissome sea of sound. "Perfect Man" moves with sloppy glee, almost like a bird learning to fly, and shakes with go-go keys. The unplugged "What Love Requires" and "Make it Mine" contain a genial flow with sheets of sugarcoated strokes.

How can anyone deny such a smooth, melodic, catchy sound? Joshua are back for one final release with five sweet and beautiful songs that will grip your emotions and take you on an adventure of heartbreaks and make ups.
These songs, although mellow and laid back, maintain the aggressive, energetic, post punk feel that Joshua became famous for whilst touring with the likes of Get Up Kids and Burning Airlines.

This is one cool EP for sure. Don't know nothing about this band, as I didn't get a press-release with this one, and I don't have time to look it up because we're getting close to dead-line and I just really, really want this one to this issue as 'single/EP of the month." Not that it's a musical revelation or anything - it's just feel-good all the way through and it gets me in a good mood, that's all. It's super catchy power-pop that is somewhere between Weezer and Foo Fighters without really sounding quite like any of those. Good stuff.
