Oh man, maybe if some weird paranormal thing happens and the tastes of everyone in the world suddenly change, I can see this band selling a lot of records and signing to a fucking major label already, but I don't think that'll be the case. Maybe big business is none of their business at all, who knows? But forget about it. Neverthemore flew like birds through the saddened sky of the dying British emo-scene. Their glued post-hardcore (think Quicksand, Fireside, etc) seeks of a real solid purple sky driven by their ambience-like rhythms and their face-full-of-haze indie guitars and bass melodies. They are the wounded army of ordinary madness on won battlefield that you can bend an ear to the heavenly in grief of "Stick Around", or you can get ready to be up there for a dreamy pretty sound at the end of "All Too Real", right after the cathartic instrumental of "Whitewash". The lyrics may vary a lot from either personal experience, something they read, or from something they dreamt. I don't know. I don't even care. All I know is that this one has some good artwork, good music, good songs, and I'm having a different good feeling about it all.

Something about this record sounds like pre-emo. Rites of Spring. Lifetime. There's a non-comercialized decency and a real honest approach to the whole thing. "Stick Around" is subtle, melodic, even folk influenced. "Before You Breathe" could easily have come from Washington DC in the early 90s. "Beach Party" is dark, melancholy and strikingly original. I've got a feeling that this is just the first glimpse of Neverthemore, and that we'll be hearing a lot more from them.

When the vocals in the opening track "Tie Me In The Van" set in I was immediately reminded of Liverpool's own Red Bank. At least I wasn't wrong with the provenience as Never The More hail from England too. NTM's emo-rock seems a bit old fashioned, but that makes things even more enjoyable. I can hear a little Chamberlain and a little Farside every now and then. A thing that definately attract one's attention are the vocals of singer Stephen Sears, as they are quite powerful and self-confident. The instrumental third track "Whitewash" sounds way different though and it actually remindend me of The Appleseed Cast, because of the delay and the melodies of the guitars and the way the drums are played. A really good one!

Neverthemore takes some of the more stunning, atmospheric touches of bands like the Appleseeed Cast and cranks up the volume just a bit on tracks like the opening "Tie me in the Van". However, after the more boisterous beginning, the band settles into a more reserved mode for the remainder of the album, attempting to dazzle the listener with lush subtlety on tracks like "All Too Real", "Beach Party" and the closing effort, "The Warning Signs". Personally, I was drawn to the opener, which allowed Thomas Mitchener and vocalist Stephen Sears to demonstrate their guitar prowess with greater clarity. However, there is some truly beautiful work on display on this self titled release, and while it may not rattle the walls, it does clearly indicate the vast amount of talent found within the ranks of this act. What may be the finest aspect of the record is that it will not bore you; although the tracks are gentle and seemingly inconspicuous, buried within the wafting riffs is an edgier, more daring personality. In the end, I found myself remembering these songs long after the disc ended, and can anyone really ask for anything more from a band?

It would be easy to label a disc as this simply emo, but it would be also unjust in the comparisons of such great musicians. This is good emo but also inspires the Jane's Addiction of "Three Days". A perfect example of that neo-psychedelica vein that gives an alternation between sounds of electric and acoustic guitars and draws an entire school of thought. Neverthemore tries a crossover between the submitted emotionality and outbreaks of anger. What it renders is an album with the ability of delicacy of sound discharged and fashion with splashes of pure hardcore energy. It's like waking from a dream.

Times again hochklassig, which presents us here the completely independent English label Engineer with Neverthemore: On the debut P of the same name us four symphatische boys which show one everything by "Emo" understand can.
8 Songs with the melancholy of the prae ausgelutscht Emo; without foreseeableness and with amazingly much alternation wealth. Humans, who have their heart openly for volume such as Appleseed Cast and mineral, more rarely perhaps also Elliot or Promise ring, becomes Neverthemore only appreciative to nod and then perhaps deeply dream or correctly rocken. Because: both goes with Neverthemore extraordinarily well.
With 34 minutes already nearly album length the possessing EP begins with a straighten Emorocker, which lets remind equal at Appleseed Cast and back-think to the glorious days of the Emo. Before the category was infiltrated by hordes/hurdles of seitenscheiteln and Buttonbestickten Bags. Losing, is sometimes already nearly minestrales stick Around then a calm, in Eligitaet song before this development with Whitewash further pursues itself: long instrument valley parts (with this Song even: exclusive) with developing structure and post office skirt relationship.
British Emo, sometimes reminds the tendency even of Oceansize. Into a similar corner the following 8-minueter universe ton material pushes, then it continues with Before You Breathe in very much verfickelte way rockig. Which Neverthemore us present possess very much self-sufficiency and in the mixture also to originality here. With Beach party one thinks of post office Indierock of the D.C school. A very energetic, driving and pressureful Song. Easy is a washgenuine Ballade with a melancholischen and nevertheless very easy atmosphere.
Only to the conclusion TRACK The warning sing a rather average and thin Emosong became and here any longer was not necessary. Because the 7 of other songs knows to convince enough by their honesty and above all their alternation wealth already more than - Neverthemore are very good volume of which one hopefully still some to expect will be able.
Result: It occurs rarely that one can follow the wash note pointingnesses - here that is easily possible: "Since 2000, Neverthemore have slowly built A collection OF daring and sincere skirt, more never drifting into the ever growing sea OF washed down "scream then sing like A girl" did. This is more than just emo."

Also over the volume NeverTheMore I cannot tell much, since the volume was so far also completely unknown to me. In addition, this volume seems to give it not yet all too for a long time, since the here available CD its first Longplayer is. The roots of NeverTheMore are appropriate for alternative in music clearly in the Indie range.
Slower Indie skirt paired with some Punk and also hard core elements. In addition still another thick shot Emo comes and finished is the sound of NeverTheMore. Since I can begin quite little however with Indie mood, the music goes to me rather fast on the nerves.
According to my opinion here simply the necessary energy behind the whole one is missing. Opening that CD goes so far into order. In the Booklet one finds the complete texts of the Songs. However one could have arranged the whole quite somewhat clearer...
Valeriocohesion
The first thing that came into my mind seeing this record (a coproduction of Engineer with the new Last Chance) was that the artwork is amazing. It is a mix of sketches, collage and paintings, it si one of nicer artwork I've seen lately.
The music: Neverthemore play emo and they do it in a style near to the one of bands on Deep Elm. So here we have melancholy vocal and guitar parts as well, but our four guys likes to play also more powerfull tunes as Before You Breathe o The Warning Signs.
The rest of the songs are slow and suggestive and they will immediately make you think to Appleseed Cast, there are instrumental parts that seemed to me better than the singed ones, as in the postrockish Whitewash.

Also the called debut of NEVERTHEMORE is a label Split release. Again chance record and Engineer record together-did load. I could not do those volume to dato yet, the more pleasing that a NEVERTHEMORE now with its called debut begluecken. In the enclosed info. volume names and vergleichsmoeglichkeiten are called such as PROMISE RING, APPLESEED CAST, MINERAL and POP UNKNOWN. I do not know at all, what itself such info. writers think sometimes with screwing expectations to this young volume equivalent so highly.
In the case of NEVERTHEMORE tunes however each of these comparison values. Who friend of atmospheric sound collages and effect-loaded guitars is, who here served in any regard.
If the Opener "Tie ME in The Van" precipitates relatively at the beginning still hard, then in the next moment already again without Distortion is done, a guitar couples, the other one holds themselves in the background and an extremely melodioeser Refrain with each quantity depth comes out. "stick Around" precipitates then even still more epischer.
The voice of singer and guitarist Stephen Sears is by sections much fragil and threatens passagenweise even to entgleiten, but never happens. Schlagzeuger Barratt has break during "stick Around" times completely and can a drink approve itself.
A beautiful Song, whose melody still minutes resounds later. "Whitewash" then really reminds CAST at the beginning of the kings of the sphere APPLESEED. A repeating reef must not become boring also with the respected mark, have the NEVERTHEMORE already on this debut understood. Heart of these 8 Song strong plate is surely the fuenfminuetige "Beach party".
The conclusion part of this Songs floats then simply only so dreamed before itself. Really unbelievably. Yes, friends of "Gitarrengeklimper", POP UNKNOWN, APPLESEED CAST and the first mineral plate will find into NEVERTHEMORE a new alternative too evenly to calling. A madly good beginning! Checkt simply the MP3s specified down.
