This is an amazing record from start to finish. Combining Hardcore/ Punk with (dare I say) Rock elements, the band moves swiftly from track to track playing honest and upbeat music. The musicianship heard here is also very impressive, though the singer's voice had to grow on me a little bit. His voice is unique and therefore I really had to give it a good listen. This EP contains no filler and is amongst one of the best albums I've heard all year.

Losing Six Seconds play an excellent mix of punk hardcore alternated by riffs metal new school and riffs hardcore old school: the British scene doesn't loose its time, kicking very hard, promoting such amazing bands like Losing Six Seconds!!! "Omniscient and in control", Losing Six Seconds's latest release, is out on the English label Engineer Records: this album is totally catchy, sounding linear in every song with fast chords and fine guitars-riding accompanied by short melodic parts; Losing Six Seconds's music is powerful, direct and easy-listening. Nik Smith, Losing Six Seconds's singer, has a big impact on every composition bringing new vitality to every song. Really not bad this Losing Six Seconds; their hardcore is truly played, their hardcore is original, with an hard impact: of their own style!! I'm waiting for Losing Six Seconds's full length, surely it will be an amazing explosive hardcore surprise!!! Buy or Die!!

Bit of a weird mix of styles this UK band Losing Six Seconds has. It's hardcore with a rocking edge for the most part, but it has this (early) Iron Maiden feel. A bit of the time of "Piece of Mind" and earlier. Gives the whole band a rather fresh feeling. The snare drums are however a bit annoying as the pound on relentlessly and are just to upfront. I do love this ep as instead of looking towards either Slayer or Motorhead for an influence, these guys take on the New Wave of British Heavy metal with youth crew vocals.

After the Six Second Heros brings and Engineer record the next volume and strange to say has those the 6 seconds likewise in the name.

Losing Six Seconds likewise Hardcorepunk with Metaleinfluessen come from England, are probably young likewise all together relatively, play however no Emo, but snap newschool. No brachialen Metaleinfluesse; thus no Moshcore fortunately, but fine melodies and Gitarrensoli loosen the hard core happening up.

The Licks reminds Poison The of Iron Maiden, the hard core portion rather of Shai Hulud meets waves, in the rockigeren parts already times of Refused. The great guitars unfortunately precede the remainder that volume. The Frontshouter white which it makes and pressure makes; the same unfortunately cannot state from the schlagzeuger however.

That would not continue to be noticeable perhaps at all, if evenly not the melodischen guitars like that grandios were. Without shit, with which they can keep up with these EP with the large category. Not all Songs is equal good - so is Within Bridle rather Duchschnitt - but is at least two songs (Rebuilding Jericho and Ragnarok) lonely point.

I do not know the Prog skirt influences, which the volume wants to have according to own statement, hearing and Mars Volta am Losing Six Seconds with some probability like that far from like my review a drama of Shakespeare, but a fast, good Hardcorepunk EP with certain the something became loose [ and in Control Omniscent ].

I look forward to an album!

Punk, hardcore and old school metal riff mixtures, it's a hardly a new blend and one that despite it's many mutations and sounds is still easily recognisable and well loved among music culture. Indeed this brand of rock has stood the test of time for many years and there are constant streams of bands parading this genre under their own unique wings, adding a little of their own taste into the music and creating a considerable pool of different approaches to choose from. However, most bands now tend to switch to the same old structures and experiment very rarely, wearing the true potential lying within their music desperately thin. So, when a band comes along that is seemingly fearless of mix and matching everything and anything that they can think of along with the generic structures and techniques of the punk/hardcore sub-genre, the result is a whole new breed of sound that cannot fail to make the blood in your very veins sing the Hallelujah for the pure joy of hearing something totally outside of the box and unique. Cue Losing Six Seconds, acclaimed band who are lucky enough to chalk their names up on the board of musical experimentation and refinement with the likes of the almighty Mars Volta and legendary Iron Maiden.

'Omniscient And In Control' is most certainly an odd album, best described as being the hybrid mutt result of cross-breeding between many genres such as punk, hardcore and progressive rock, even blues and jazz influences poke their way into the blood-line. The result is a highly complicated structure compiled of perfectly synchronised and well composed riffs that scream the likeness of a boss theme in a video game and many more besides. The slight hints at their drawn on influences are many and constantly shape shifting into and out of one another, really keeping the listener on their toes. Although the album is short in terms of having only six tracks, Losing Six Seconds more than make up for what they lack in quantity with the electrifying and sharp quality of the riffs. There is no better way to describe the way the guitarists collaborate then as pure expertise. They display immense flexibility and immaculate skill, their knowledge and technique thoroughly polished and improvised in all the genres they play with. They experiment to a level that no others can even hope to display, and rise above the dark pits of blandness usually found in their respective genre with unchallenged ease.

The opening track, 'Rebuilding Jericho', blasts in with a sheer kick in the face of racing, descending guitar riffs that can't fail but to raise your heart-rate if only for a second for the sheer adrenaline packed rush of the music. The music is filled to the brim with a sheer burning for life that resonates a real rock and roll, feel good mood and can't help but elate the listener's mood while indulging in the upbeat and catchy rhythms. 'Intersection' pumps out a real catchy and punk-like ripping rhythm structure that really seems to draw upon a Rage Against The Machine influence, combining the defiant, screeching vocals with real pounding bass riffs and fuel packed guitar riffs that just won't pull the brakes. Indeed, it would seem that whatever brakes may have restrained the sheer speed of the music broke long ago, half way through the first track. One thing is for sure; Losing Six Seconds are most certainly of the energetic sort!

A brief appearance of funked out and laid back jazz riffs are born within the passion of 'Within Bridle', showing off even more the extent of this bands fearlessness to be experimental and not only that, but also how well they manage to blend such completely different genres together into a sound that really works. No one can get away with mix and matching as forwardly as Losing Six Seconds, that's for certain! They've got a certain edge to their music that is simply unique and also eccentric. You'd have to be mad not to see their level of expertise and skill, it's too obvious and clearly on show throughout their material. Such blatant talent should never escape the ever-cynical eyes of recognition and gain its favour. With the closing track 'Radiant Today' following a completely off the wall song about two monsters locked in battle (i.e. 'Ragnarok') resonating sheer musical passion and fuelled with a certain display of skill, an extended scream seals the ending of a brilliant album with such velocity that it lingers like a sorrowful farewell and sealing the album with a kiss. It is now more than absolutely clear from this point on that Losing Six Seconds will really make a name for themselves in the industry. For the cynics not to recognise and adorn the band with the acclaim and reputation that they deserve is just inconceivable madness and should be considered criminal, for this level of expertise and innovation is of such a standard never before seen in the industry. It's certainly something that you don't come across everyday and of a quality and uniqueness that I'm sure a whole lot more of would be appreciated.

With such energy and life about them and with familiar influences so uniquely tamed into their own sound, Losing Six Seconds simply can't fail to take the rock scene by storm!
