Barbed Wire are an emo/alt-rock trio based in Rome and formed in 2016. The band started playing a sort of nu-crossover during the first two years of activity, but after that, Barbed Wire turned their style into a melancholic and energetic mix of 90’s emocore (i.e. Mineral/The Get Up Kids/ Texas is the Reason) and darker post-punk sounds. Barbed Wire published their first album, One Last Drive, in November 2020 and performed its songs live in many Italian stages, while working on their second album.
The Sun Sets In The Wrong Place, this second studio album, was written between September 2021 and February 2022 and recorded between May-June 2022 in a house of the roman countryside, produced by Andreas Macrì and mixed and mastered by Simone Umbaca. The 8-tracked album represents the perfect mix of 3 different minds listening and drawing inspirations by different music but focused on sounding in a very emo-ish way (90's style). This album follows the "colour concept" started with BW's first album (purple) as the very vapor-ish colour of memories when you feel nostalgic.
Co-releasing this CD across Italy are È Un Brutto Posto Dove Vivere; Non Ti Seguo Records; Fresh Outbreak Records; Weird Side; Dinomite Records as well as a cassette version in the USA on Sleepy Crown Records.
The Sun Sets In The Wrong Place first single “Bedroom Walls” arrived out 9th September 2022 via Engineer Records and Italian labels, Brutto Posto Dove vivere and Non Ti Seguo Records to precede the album.
