The video for the opening track of About Leaving's new album 'Sculptures of Water' will premiere on Engineer Records YouTube channel and across various alternative rock websites tomorrow at 5.30pm UK time.
'Feigning Colors' will be at: https://youtu.be/hMKqNsOI8aU
It is a song about leaving. "About how all too often we let ourselves drown in routine and just go through the motions without really thinking about it. But then someone comes along and all we can think about is leaving our gray-themed existence towards more colorful sceneries with that someone. Suddenly, even just planning a future with them feels like an escape from the oppressing monotony, and even if it doesn’t work out in the end, at least you’ve caught a glimpse of a different kind of life".
Music by About leaving. Lyrics by Jaime Pizarro.
Recorded at Wave Factory by Victor Teller and Estudi Núvol by Martí Ferrer.
Mixed by Joan Peiron at L’Orella Escapçada and Mastered by Victor Garcia at Ultramarinos Mastering.
Feigning colors (Lyrics)
Aren’t you tired of feigning colors onto a surface that’s so plain? Of watching your hopes grow meagre inside this cage of cement? Every day that passes by it’s just another day ill-spent at the birth of this routine that never seem to come to an end. So pack your things and we’ll just leave far away from here. Faraway. And so I drew all these red marks on the maps we used to share, connecting cities we always said we would visit some day. And now I’m made of all those travels that we never got to take. Of road trips long forgotten, planes that never ploughed the air. And I've kept all those old sketches so close to my chest that it feels as if some day we'll be actually there. As if somehow time stopped then, giving us one last chance to melt into each other in the saddest landscape.
