Written as a celebration of playing music with your best friends, Power Pop Massacre kicks things into overdrive leaving you feeling as though your clothing was shut in the car door as The Stayawakes roar off into the sunset dragging you with them.
The lyrics are a mission statement for the band; "It's the beating sound that comes from your heart/It's when you fall in love, just to fall apart". An ode to "that" song or "that" band. The one you can't live without. We all have them. As you raise a margarita to the Power Pop Massacre, you can taste the parts that create the whole: a cheeky nod to seventies bands such as Arrows or The Starjets, a pinch of Teenage Fanclub with a sharp twang of Silver Sun and a hint of The Lemonheads with a mysterious undertone of Big Star. The Power and The Glory!
