London melodic hardcore/emo band Death of Youth are set to release their debut full-length
album, ‘Nothing Is The Same Anymore’, on February 16, 2026. The record marks a defining
moment for the band, it’s their first release as a full line-up and sees them expand on their
emotionally charged sound with a renewed sense of urgency, depth, and conviction.
Recorded at Rogue Recording Studios between February and April 2025, the album was
produced and tracked by Michael Kew and Rob Parnell, and mixed and mastered by Kew at
Rogue Studios in July 2025.
Originally founded in 2018 as the bedroom project of vocalist Rob David, Death of Youth first
made waves with their emotionally raw debut EP ‘Between Chapters’ and 2020’s ‘Suburban
Dystopia’. The latter showcased the project’s shift toward social and political commentary
and caught the attention of Engineer Records, who released the compilation 'Some Demons
Never Die' in 2021.
After a brief hiatus, Death of Youth returned in 2024 as a full band, now featuring Joe Arnold
(guitar), Carlos Zelaya (bass), and William Page (drums), the band debuted their live lineup
in London and shared stages with bands including Chalk Hands, Still in Love, Zeddon, and
Pothole.
Their debut album ‘Nothing Is The Same Anymore’ is a deeply introspective yet socially
aware record that explores the fractures and fears of modern existence. Lead single “Fix
Your Heart or Die” tackles transgender rights, while “Desensitised” examines male attitudes
toward violence against women. Other tracks explore emotional abuse (Invertebrate), and
bigotry within the heavy music scene (Performance Art).
While the album boldly engages with these urgent topics, it also makes space for moments
of personal reflection. The penultimate track “Castle Rock” mourns the loss of a childhood
friend, while the closing and title track “Nothing Is The Same Anymore” captures the painful
but necessary journey of healing from trauma.
Musically, the record weaves together the band’s hardcore foundation with influences from
screamo/skramz, Midwest emo, and early 2000s post-hardcore, creating a sound that’s both
cathartic and contemplative, drawing comparisons to Touché Amoré, Departures, and La
Dispute.
This is the pre-order to reserve a limited-edition sunburst-coloured vinyl LP.
The beautiful album artwork is by London based artist, writer and musician, Alex CF.
The records will ship as soon as we have them, Likely to be in February 2026.
