‘The Stars Within’ will be the first album by ‘Mother’ and will arrive in the spring via Engineer Records. ‘Chamomile’ is the video and first single, premiered by Rumore mag in Italy.
After talking about the sense of community in the hardcore scene with ‘Magic Lungs’, Mother are back with ‘Chamomile’, their new single accompanied by an official video that reveals the most intimate, fragile and dreamy side of the band. With this release they also announce the title of their debut album, ‘The Stars Within’, expected for spring ’26 on Engineer Records.
‘Chamomile’ moves on more collected and personal emotional coordinates: an evocative song, with a suspended and nocturnal sound, which has its roots in the band's adolescent memory. It is a reflection on the most secret and profound relationship with music, the one that arises away from the stages and the public, between garages, daydreams and the unconscious enthusiasm of the beginnings.
"Right from the start, we felt the peculiarity of Chamomile, because of the evocative sound and the very intimate atmosphere. If Magic Lungs speaks of our perception of the hardcore scene as a collective, Chamomile addresses our deepest and most secret relationship with music: the one locked up in our adolescent years, a reminiscence that almost seems like a lucid dream. It's a lights-out whisper about the people we were and how they live with who we are today," the band says.
The single, as well as the entire album ‘The Stars Within’, was recorded, co-produced, mixed and mastered by Matteo "Ciube" Tabacco (Dufresne) at the Raptor Studio in Vicenza, confirming a fundamental collaboration for the sound evolution of the group.
The video of ‘Chamomile’, shot by Giacomo Carraro – who also curated the teaser clips on social media – is a visual journey through central places and moments in the history of Mother. From the C.S. Rivolta di Marghera, passing through Mira and the Riviera del Brenta, up to the beach of Boschettona, the video alternates playback in strong chiaroscuro and urban landscapes with dreamlike visions, plays of light and naturalistic views. Everything is observed under the symbolic gaze of the moon and through the lens of a telescope: a metaphor for the search for personal value that, initially turned outwards, finally leads to the awareness that "the stars" – what really matters – reside within each of us.
The cover of the single, as well as that of the album, is created in collaboration by Riccardo Volpe and Saverio Cazzin, reinforcing a coherent imagery deeply linked to the visual identity of the project.
