While both the band name and album title suggest a heavy metal act with a sense of humour, Wisconsin’s Rad Skulls are most definitely a melodic hardcore/punk rock band. On their debut full-length, ‘See You In Hell, Poser’, they take it all the way back to the golden era of the late '90s and early 2000s, evoking the peak fast-and-melodic crunch of Lifetime and early Saves The Day.
The moment opening track ‘123 Kid’ blasts out of the gate, the band - featuring Pat Schramm (of Latterman and Tender Defender fame) - proves they have a knack for writing catchy-as-hell hooks that still pack a massive punch. Best thing about ‘See You In Hell, Poser’? Rad Skulls doesn’t let off and keeps going full-throttle until the cross the finish line 26 minutes later.
With songs that constantly shift gears on a dime, raw vocals that balance power with a delicate fragility, and a bittersweet undercurrent woven through every track, Rad Skulls have delivered yet another standout release for 2026.
Rad Skulls will be playing album release shows on Friday 2nd October at Number Five Bar in beautiful Beloit Wisconsin with The Anys and This Time, and a marvellous matinee from 2pm on Saturday 24th October at Gamma Ray in wonderful Madison Wisconsin with Walk Off, Geoff Palmer and Los Kausas.
