Life’s hard and then you die

Rough Times just had a great interview with Jim (vocals) and Dan (Guitar) from Shreds.

The Sheffield hardcore veterans had a lot to say. Check it all out, here: https://roughtimes.net/interviews/shreds-until-it-breaks-england-hardcore-interview-with-jim-dan

“Shreds. from the start was always about taking our cues from the origins of hardcore and thinking about what made that tick and getting back to basic core values. So taking influence from early black flag, uniform choice, minor threat, 7 seconds, negative approach,  SSD, Jerrys Kids… I could go on!” (Dan)

“We’re very near to releasing our second album “Floorshow", it’s all recorded and all and virtually ready for release!! We recorded the drums at "Playing Aloud" in Lincoln and everything else recorded and produced at The Stationhouse in Leeds, James Atkinson there is an amazing producer and really pushed us to get the best out of us , and he’s a wonderful human too.” (Jim)

“The scene that we’re playing in we’ve made some amazing friends in amazing bands, King of Pigs from Notts are wonderful. This is not a drill from Sheffield but they’re winding things up unfortunately! Grail Guard from Coventry are kicking everyone’s ass right now!  The UK DIY scene is healthy right now. (Jim)

Alongside the bands Jim mentioned, shout out to Healer Of Bastards, Dosed, Reason To Leave. Yeah we are sort of based around Sheffield in the north of England, and we put shows on ourselves around there also, so we're heavily invested in that scene!” (Dan)

And don’t forget, Shreds will be supporting D.R.I. when they come to Hull on July 14th! They're opening at The New Adelphi Club together with their good friends Under The Influence. Advance tix sales are moving fast, so don't wait!

Engineer Records is a truly independent alternative record label with over 400 rocking releases out in the world.

We believe punk rock is an ethic, even more than a sound, and have been promoting both brand new and well-known bands equally since our formation as Ignition Records back in 1999. The label is based in the southeast corner of England but has partners and distributers all over the world.

We are always looking for great bands and ways to promote our artists and their releases.
Please contact us if you can help in any way. Let's work together.
