Raise Your Finger

Flamsteed are a band that fiercely and brilliantly clash the original punk spirit of ’77 with the melodic and earworm tones of modern-day pop punk. The result is a loud and unforgettable blend, delivered with power and energy. This adrenaline-fuelled and primally spirited foundation informs Flamsteed’s 2023’s album, the impeccably titled ‘Truths on Demand’. And this is precisely what is promised from the band’s upcoming follow-up too, a heavy and hard-hitting combination of punk’s ethos, emo’s soul, and an alternative indie appeal bringing it all together.

Taking a break from these captivating musings, band member Dani sat down for a chat with Aldora Britain Records about his creative journey so far. We discussed the long-lasting impact of the post-COVID era, formative artistic memories from his youth and adolescence, the early days and beginnings of Flamsteed, and much, much more. That exclusive and in-depth conversation is published here in full for the very first time.

Flamsteed appear in #602 of the Aldora Britain records magazine, with a four page interview from page 14 to page 17.

“The best part is that we’ve had very similar tastes right from the start, so 99.9% of the time we love what the other person is playing on guitar. The details come later, but usually, we just know what fits with what the other one is doing.”

“I think the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory, but basically, something that yesterday was ‘A’ in all the media can suddenly become ‘B’ today, just because it suits someone powerful.”

“I don’t know, maybe I'm just getting old, but I’d love to go back to the days when people released full twelve-track LPs, and you’d actually buy them and listen to them from start to finish.”
