Capturing the energy of these live shows, FLOORSHOW is Shreds. powerful second album and it’s a true love-letter to the UK DIY Scene.

Two years since their debut album, STEP BACK, these fifteen blistering new tracks on FLOORSHOW were forged in the sweaty environment of small independent DIY venues, and the record captures the relentless chaotic energy of their live shows.

The album will be released in both LP and CD formats, officially on 1st September 2026, but available from the band at gigs before then.

First up this morning on the turntable of death and blasting out of the speakers is the second LP from Sheffield shredders SHREDS.

Their “Floorshow” LP (Terraphile/Engineer) is out now on splatter-y Halloween coloured vinyl (or CD if you prefer) and it is a step up from “Step Back” in terms of sound, production and general rumpus factor all round.

Over the last few years, the SHREDS. bandwagon has rolled out and conquered venues all over the place, bringing with it wild, frenzied and chaotic gigs full of lunatics jumping about, skateboarding in the pit and generally going off on one and that’s just frontman Jim. Listening to these fifteen tracks (in 26 minutes!) sat at home I can just visualise Jim, with a bandana wrapped around his great head, excitedly bouncing back and forth at the front of the stage, as the band run through a stomping intro, before that loaded pause, a quick rattle on the snare and then mayhem as Jim is seen piling in to the crowd and everyone goes berserk. A chorus turns up and it’s over before it’s started, but not before finger pointing, sing-a-long-a grab the mic antics aplenty. SHREDS. are the perfect band for a DIY Punk gig in a tiny venue full of thrash maniacs ready to “go off” and this album captures that bedlam marvellously. The production has the vocals lower in the mix this time out and the whole benefits massively, while the band seem to have speeded up and tightened up after becoming battle hardened on the road in the couple of years since their debut.

Lyrically they aren’t holding back either with plenty of furious condemnations of the idiots in charge of the World who seem intent in taking us all down with ‘em. Musical references? The obvious ones are positive pointy finger purveyors of yore Gorilla Biscuits and Seven Seconds but with an all-out Hardcore assault of Minor Threat, SSD and Jerry’s Kids. That, of course, sounds like your kind of thing doesn’t it? It certainly is mine and I’ll be getting out to see these loons at some point in the near future as they are always gigging with their Terraphile gig promotions where they find venues aplenty on the road and sell tickets for a fiver or so.

SHREDS. are a class act and if you haven’t got yersel to one of their riotous gigs yet, then sort it out! Top bombing here mate.
