Break To Broken Announce New 7-Inch EP No Care +2, Featuring Punk Legend Mike Watt
Out Digitally July 15, 2025 via Engineer Records (IGN458) – Vinyl Pre-Orders Launch Same Day
Break To Broken return with No Care +2, a blistering new 3-song EP that marks the next step in their evolving post-punk/DIY journey. Out July 15, 2025, via Engineer Records, this release will be available digitally across all platforms, with pre-orders opening the same day for a limited edition 7-inch vinyl set to ship later in the summer.
The EP opens with “No Care,” a driving, emotionally charged track that features a guest performance by punk icon Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, The Stooges) on bass. The collaboration was born from a connection in the summer of 2024 when Break To Broken were featured guests on The Watt from Pedro Show, Watt’s long-running podcast. The band and Watt hit it off during the conversation, bonding over their shared punk ethics and Break To Broken’s unconventional, cross-continental creative process. Intrigued by their story, Watt kept in touch—and when drummer/guitarist/vocalist Eli Nowak asked if he’d ever be open to collaborating, Watt simply said yes. The result is a song that’s a blend of both styles - urgent and unforgettable.
Track two, “Marching West,” has roots that pre-date the band itself. Originally written by guitarist/vocalist Clinton Maher before Break To Broken was formed, the song was later reshaped by bassist Justin Rauschkolb and completed with new lyrics from Maher—bridging the past and present of the band’s unique global collaboration.
Closing the EP is “Remain Accused,” a raw, high-energy punk anthem that nods directly to the band’s hardcore roots. Structured and sung by Nowak, the track showcases the trio’s shared reverence for classic punk and their ability to channel it into something that feels vital and new.
No Care +2 follows Break To Broken’s 2022 debut album 'The War on Sparrows' and their EP 'White & Gray +2', both released through Engineer Records. Like all of their work, the new record was written, recorded, and mixed entirely DIY across three home studios in New Jersey, Virginia, and Australia.
Formed in 2020 during the height of pandemic lockdowns, Break To Broken built their sound on the foundation of digital collaboration, punk values, and a love for bands like Fugazi and the Dischord Records scene. With No Care +2, they continue to push the boundaries of what a band can be—connected by creativity rather than geography, and united by a commitment to authenticity over convention.
