Ligatures are a band that sound like tension made physical. Coming out of Washington D.C., they fuse classic D.C. hardcore aggression with the jagged rhythmic dissonance of Chicago noise rock, filtered through the grimy experimentation of UK post-punk and the raw nerve of outsider garage rock.

Imagine Drive Like Jehu if they’d grown up on Dischord records instead of Southern California - that’s Ligatures’ sweet spot. Songs lurch and snap, driven by angular riffs, nervous rhythms, and a sense that everything could come apart at any second. It’s confrontational without being retro, chaotic without losing purpose. 

Featuring ex-members of Pressgang and Crucial Unit, Ligatures bring serious pedigree, but zero nostalgia. This is music made by people who understand hardcore as an idea, not a formula - pushing it sideways, roughening the edges, and leaning hard into discomfort.

Ligatures will be playing the Charm City Art Space Reunion Weekend at The Metro in Baltimore on Saturday 13^th June with all proceeds going to the Amica Centre for Immigrant Rights.
