Four years to the day since System Of Slaves stepped onto the stage for their first ever gig, and now they are playing two launch shows in a row for their crushing new album ‘Live Not By Lies… At One Time We Dared Not Even Whisper’ to celebrate its release!
System Of Slaves are one part hardcore, one part crusty, one part metal, and one part punk band from Cardiff with two ex-members of In The Shit and a current member of Social Experiment and Zero Again. They bring the noise in a way you’d expect from that, but have a prowling and angry female front-person in Keda who leads the energetic pack through the nightmare realms they sing about, and we live in.
The new album is jointly released via Engineer Records, Urinal vinyl (UK), Rejected abused (UK), Jans Little Hammer (Spain), Deviance (France), Mass Production (France), and DIY Kolo (France). It’s available on heavy coloured vinyl, digipak CD, and across all digital streaming channels, with links here: https://ingrv.es/live-not-by-lies-at-one-3dx-s
Packed with short, sharp bursts of musical anger matched by caustic lyrics addressing sexism and the destructive, strangling nature of corporatism/capitalism. It’s a veritable volley of verbal venom.
Nathan Brown at Louder Than War has blasted the new album already and describes their “tight heavy performance” as “a solid beast of an album”.
