Barklife!

Camden pop-punkers BARKING POETS are back with a new video which they're premiering exclusively today with Vive Le Rock!

A barbed paean to our current government, 'Getting Away With It' is taken from the trio's brand new 6-track EP 'Southsea Sounds', so-called because it was recorded at Southsea Sound Studios in Portsmouth.

Out today through Engineer Records, 'Southsea Sounds' is available on CD here and digitally here.

The Barking Poets continue to sing their timely anthems about austerity, racism, climate change, self-belief and populist politics, all sound-tracked by riffs galore, so you'll be jumping around, or just tapping your feet and singing along in no time.

Getting Away With It’ is the opening track from their blasting new EP ‘Southsea Sounds’ and rails against the ‘pull the ladder up’ hypocrites that lead us right now.

These Camden town punkers have a lot to say and more people should be listening.

Neil Murray: Lead Vocals, Guitar.

Conor Heary: Drums, Backing Vocals

Oh, here come the hypocrites See them all swarming to the streets of gold then warning you off of it Oh, while they all lecture us They’re standing on the shoulders of the common man then pulling the ladder up You’re running so hard just to stay in one place While they’re up ahead and they’re rigging the race Call me up on Friday get me out of this house I can’t take anymore of what comes out of his mouth I’m trying to ignore it, but he never stops talking shit Politics is over, here’s the showbiz kids Don’t think too hard about it, just do what your parents did They’re getting away with it They’re selling us by the pound You can’t find nobody on their level no more so you gotta go underground Snakes, squeezing you more and more Picking your pockets while you’re raising your fists at the refugees on the shore You’re running so hard just to stay in one place While they’re up ahead and they’re rigging the race Call me up on Friday get me out of this house I can’t take anymore of what comes out of his mouth I’m trying to ignore it, but he never stops talking shit Politics is over, here’s the showbiz kids Don’t think too hard about it, just do what your parents did They’re getting away with it Show you something shiny to keep you occupied Just as long as you don’t try to look outside You can’t trust nobody in the government, they’re lining on their pockets now at your expense They’re laughing at you while you struggle to stay afloat Open up your eyes, these people aren’t your friends Don’t ever let them tell you how the story ends They say they’re here to save you, but they’re the ones that sunk the boat Call me up on Friday get me out of this house I can’t take anymore of what comes out of his mouth I’m trying to ignore it, but he never stops talking shit Politics is over, here’s the showbiz kids Don’t think too hard about it, just do what your parents did They’re getting away with it Call me up on Friday get me out of this house I can’t take anymore of what comes out of his mouth I’m trying to ignore it, but he never stops talking shit Politics is over, here’s the showbiz kids Don’t think too hard about it, just do what your parents did They’re getting away with it
